Knitter on Skates

Finally, some fiber mail – but not for Kiri

Posted by Gina on Wednesday, April 23, 2008

Kiri is going to be on the back burner for a while. Not that I’ll never knit it, just not in the next few months. While browsing patterns, I spotted the Bed of Roses shawl. It called my name. I ignored it for the longest time, but it kept calling. I have to knit it.

No, really… I have to!

It’s one of those patterns that can’t be ignored. You know the feeling, right? The yarn is on its way to my house as we speak (for real, this time). Even though it has ‘shawl’ in the name, I think Bed of Roses will be the perfect blankie to cuddle with while watching reruns of Quantum Leap and X-Files.

OH, speaking of X-Files!!! There’s Ravelry group for X-Files fans, complete with favorite quotes, XF2 spoilers, Lone Gunmen discussions, X-Files inspired knits, and more!

That settles it; heaven is on the internet. I call it Ravelry.

That mustache hat is truly atrocious. No offense, lol. In any case, people I know IRL take priority. (No offense… again). You’ll get something one of these days (maybe?), but it could be a while. I knit for immediate family and good friends first. Even then, I typically stick to simple items, or things that inspire me or call my name. I’m very much non-committal outside of family obligations. This is doubly true for knitting because of how potentially time consuming it can be.

(This is not intended to sound mean or catty. Honestly. I just don’t want anything I say to be mistaken for my agreeing to make something for you. ‘Maybe’ is all I can say for now).
